A once anti-Islam leading Dutch politicians has announced his plans to form the first Islamic political party in Europe to serve Islam and Muslims, a few months after reverting to Islam.

“The party will comprise a large number of Muslim members as well as non-Muslim members who sympathize with Islam and Muslims,” Arnoud van Doorn, a former member of Wilders’ Freedom Party, told the Saudi Gazette on Tuesday, October 22.

Doorn, a former member of the far-right Freedom Party (PVV) has embraced Islam earlier this year after an extensive study into the religion.

He was among party leaders who helped produce an offensive film titled Fitna that linked Islam and the Qur’an to violence.

But after Muslim outcry at the movie, Doorn began to read more about Islam and Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him), leading him to embrace Islam.

A few days ago, he performed his first hajj to Makkak at which he lived the best days of his life.

After hajj, he managed to establish the first Islamic political party in Europe to spread the virtues and the true message of Islam in Europe and elsewhere.

The new Muslim, Doorn, reveled that he has been explaining Islam to his mother, wife and three children and they have started to understand it, Saudi gazette reported.

“I have taken a solemn pledge to work day and night in the service of Islam to atone for my previous sins,” Doorn said.

“I hope that Allah will accept my repentance and forgive me,” he added.

Muslims make up one million of the Netherlands’s 16 million population, mostly from Turkish and Moroccan origin.

The number of native Dutch Muslim converts has risen to around 15,000 from 12,000 a few years ago.

Hajj book

Inspired by the life-time journey to Mekkah, Doorn decided to publish a book about his hajj experience.

“I will never forget the sight of a security man carrying an old woman pilgrim on his back and running with her all the way to the Jamarat bridge to stone the Satan,” he said.

His visit to the holy lands in Makkah and Madinah is not the first, he performed `Umrah in last February.

Marking his second visit to the holy land, Doorn said that he found peace and tranquility while performing hajj this year.

The former anti-Islam activist bitterly regrets having taken part in the production of the hateful film Fitna (Sedition) and said he was in the holy sites to atone for his sins.

“I have regretted my previous sins,” he said.

“My entire life before Islam is a complete emptiness and void.”

Earlier in April, Doorn vowed to use his experience in producing an international film that highlights the noble traits of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

“We will also produce a series of short stories based on the Prophet’s (pbuh) life story in five languages for distribution all over Europe,” Doorn said.

Under the title ‘Muhammad: Master of Human Beings’, the movie would be co-produced by the Canadian Dawah Society, which had invited him to perform hajj.
