Short Description
The second goal which I earnestly shall seek by the end of the most beautiful Ramadan is to be described as “pious”.
(….that you may become righteous)
Al-Baqarah, 183.
The second goal which I earnestly shall seek by the end of the most beautiful Ramadan is to be described as “pious” that Allah has approached a lot in the Quran and the Prophet as well.
Allah says: (Allah loves those who fear Him.), At-Tawbah, 7. And He “SWT” assist them always, Allah says: (And know that Allah is with the righteous [who fear Him].), At-Tawbah, 36, and that Allah Almighty does not accept the good deeds except from them (Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous [who fear Him].), Al-Maedah, 27.
Allah Almighty mentioned their abode in the hereafter (Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs. [Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]."), Al-Hijr, 45, 46, and (The example of Paradise, which the righteous have been promised, is [that] beneath it rivers flow. Its fruit is lasting, and its shade. That is the consequence for the righteous), Ar-Ra`d, 35, and also, (Is the description of Paradise, which the righteous are promised, wherein are rivers of water unaltered, rivers of milk the taste of which never changes, rivers of wine delicious to those who drink, and rivers of purified honey, in which they will have from all [kinds of] fruits and forgiveness from their Lord,), Muhammad, 15.
The Prophet “PBUH” elevated them in the Hadith related by Mu`az ibn Jabal who said that when the Prophet “PBUH” sent him to Yemen, the Prophet went out with him advising him, Mu`az was riding and the Prophet was on foot beside his riding camel. When finished, namely his advice, he said: (O Mu`az! You may do not meet me after this year, and you may pass by my mosque and grave). Thus, Mu`az loudly cried anxiously for the dissociation of the Prophet and faced the Medina and said: (Indeed, the most worthy of me are the pious; anyone, from anywhere.[1])
Accordingly; who are the pious?
The pious are a people from among us, those who performed deeds please Allah Almighty and characterized by characteristics pleases Allah Almighty, so they deserved such honorific title “pious” by Allah. Among the characteristics they acquired and good deeds they observed are those mentioned by Allah in the Qur`an: (Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah , the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.), Al-Baqarah, 177.
Also, they observe truth in words and sincerity in deeds, and faith in the word of Allah Almighty and His Messenger (And the one who has brought the truth and [they who] believed in it - those are the righteous.), Az-Zumar, 33. The pious fulfill their commitment (But yes, whoever fulfills his commitment and fears Allah - then indeed, Allah loves those who fear Him.), Al-`Emran, 76, even if such commitments were to polytheists (Excepted are those with whom you made a treaty among the polytheists and then they have not been deficient toward you in anything or supported anyone against you; so complete for them their treaty until their term [has ended]. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who fear Him].), At-Tawbah, 4.
