Short Description
The pilgrimage should be submissively humble, shedding tears, fearing from his Lord, surrendering to Him, seeking His Mercy and Forgiveness.
In that situation, he should be submissively humble, shedding tears, fearing from his Lord, surrendering to Him, seeking His Mercy and Forgiveness, fearing His Torture and Wrath, putting himself to account, renewing his sincere repentance from all past sins along with showing regret, fear and shy in front of Allaah The Almighty.
He should enter upon his Lord through the gate of showing need and humbleness to Him. He has to be like one whose heart is dominated by poverty and need for Allaah so that this feeling penetrates deeply into his heart to break it and encompass it from all directions. As such, he admits his need and poverty to Allaah through all his internal and external parts. One has to do so admitting that he will experience a loss that can not be compensated and ruin if Allaah Fails him for even the twinkling of an eye, unless Allaah The Almighty Includes him in His Mercy again.
When the heart is emptied and purified, the other organs are purified as well, morale is gathered, the heart is consolidated, hope in Allaah is increased, and this is likely to entitle them to acceptance from Allaah Who Stated these reasons for obtaining goodness and attaining mercy. One should exert his best to shed some tears for they are evidence of acceptance of supplication and the sign of happiness. It is admissible that the opposite of this is a sign of misery and sadness. One who is unable to weep has to substitute this with humble imploring and supplication of Allaah. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {That [is so]. And whoever honors the Symbols of Allaah - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.} [Quran 22: 32]
Ubayy ibn Ka‘b, May Allaah Be Pleased with him, said: “Adhere to the Path (methodology of the Prophets and the righteous) and the Sunnah, for when the servant (of Allaah) is adherent to the Path and the Sunnah and then remembers Allaah and his skin trembles out of fear of Allaah, his sins will drop like dry leaves drop from a tree. When a servant of Allaah is adherent to the Path and the Sunnah, remembers Allaah and his eyes well up with tears due to the fear of Allaah - he will never be touched by the Fire. Indeed moderation in following the Path and Sunnah is better than exertion in what is opposite to them.
One should urgently and eagerly supplicate Allaah The Almighty for it is a day on which answering the supplication is hoped. He should supplicate Allaah The Almighty humbly and secretly. Supplicating Allaah secretly is greater in showing one’s respect to Allaah and exaltation of Him. It is also better in terms of sincerity, humbleness and submissiveness. A pilgrim has to do his best in remembering Allaah and supplicating during that night. Satan is not seen more abased, more contemptible or angrier on any day than the day of ‘Arafah, because he sees the descent of mercy and forgiveness of grave major sins, except what he was shown on the Day of Badr.
A Muslim should do his best to satisfy Allaah, humiliate his enemy Satan and sadden him through frequent remembrance of Allaah, supplication, adhering to piety and asking for forgiveness from all sins and misdeeds.
One should have good faith in Allaah, strong hope that He Will Accept him and Forgive his sins, for Allaah Is the Ever Merciful, the Ever Generous, the Ever Giving and the Self-Sufficient. He Is the Ever Pardoning and He Loves to pardon, the Ever Forgiving and He Loves to forgive.
