Short Description
That is one of the most efficient ways to enthuse and motivate others; i.e. to amplify the purpose and objective to the utmost.
The other way is to amplify the great purpose for which man has been created, and the noble end for which we live on earth.
He rose with the spirits of the people above human material aspirations to very high horizons, linking each deed they do to the good Pleasure of Allaah, the Almighty, and the support of religion.
Should every one of us amplify the matter of Islam in his heart, any sacrifice to support this religion would seem insignificant to him.
That is one of the most efficient ways to enthuse and motivate others; i.e. to amplify the purpose and objective to the utmost, thereupon all of your Jihaad, readiness and movement turn into worship of Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds.
Qutuz, May Allaah have mercy upon him, motivated them neither by a worldly benefit, nor by following a certain person, nor by Egyptian or even Arab nationalism, nor by love for survival and desire for self-defense against death; on the contrary, he motivated them by eagerness to death. How far the one who fights (in the Cause of Allaah) with eagerness to die is from the one who fights (in the Cause of Allaah) with eagerness not to die!
Qutuz, May Allaah have mercy upon him, said to them explicitly, "O emirs of the Muslims! You have been eating from Bayt Al-Maal for a long time, even though you dislike fighting (in the Cause of Allaah). I am going (to fight); whoever chooses Jihaad, let him accompany me, and whoever chooses to stay behind, let him return home, and Allaah Knows everything he does, and the crime of (violating the honor of) Muslim women would be borne by those who remain behind."
How accurate and wonderful his speech was!
It is, simply, a matter of faith.
If you know with certainty that Allaah Is Watching you, and, at the same time, that you are disobeying Him, you would bear the evil consequences of this.
The Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, never coerced a hypocrite to set out for Jihaad along with him. On the contrary, he always left the matter at liberty. Moreover, if the believing Muslims themselves remained behind from Jihaad, as some believers did in the Battle of Tabook, he would not coerce them, rather, whenever a mention was made to him of anyone of them who remained behind, he would say: "Leave him. If there is good in him, Allaah Would Cause him to join you, otherwise, Allaah Has Relieved you of him."
