Short Description
The time of darkness, in their sight, began with the flood of Noah [peace be upon him]. The Hindu Scriptures state that, in all these cycles, Allâh sent Messengers. Some of their books enumerate the leading Messengers as twenty-four, twenty-three of whom were sent and the last
According to the belief of the Hindus, the world has four time cycles: the time of truth in which there was no grief; the time of evil commencements, when the blameworthy attributes began to invade people’s hearts; the time of the eruption of evil, when evil increased in people’s lives and manners; and the time of darkness, when evil overwhelmed the human world and left it dark with no light.
The time of darkness, in their sight, began with the flood of Noah [peace be upon him]. The Hindu Scriptures state that, in all these cycles, Allâh sent Messengers. Some of their books enumerate the leading Messengers as twenty-four, twenty-three of whom were sent and the last one not having been sent yet, about whom there are a lot of glad tidings. This messenger is known as Kalki Avatar (i.e. the one who will wash off and remove blackness (or darkness)).
1- According to Bhavishya Purana, ‘the Messenger to be born at the time of darkness will be named Saru Anma.’ Saru Anma means the one to be praised much more than others or more than all people and this agrees with the name Muhammad (i.e. the one praised much more).
2- According to Kalki Purana, section 2, chapter 11, Kalki will be born from a woman called Sumâni and a man called Vishnubhagat. Vishnubhagat stands for the servant of Vishnu “slave of Allâh = ‘Abdullâh” (i.e. Muhammad’s father) and Sumâni stands for peace/calmness (i.e. the Arabic “Âminah” (i.e. Muhammad’s mother). The name of his father is mentioned in two other books.
To sum up,[1] the glad tidings in the ancient Hindu Scriptures of Kalki Avatar give him the following characteristics:
1- His name is “the one praised much more than all others” (i.e. Muhammad).
2- The names of his parents are Vishnubhagat and Sumâni (i.e. ‘Abdullâh and Âminah].
3- He will be born in the secure city to Vishnubhagat (i.e. ‘Abdullâh), in the house of the religious chief of the city; and this agrees with ‘Abd-al-Muttalib (i.e. the grandfather of Muhammad).
4- He will be born on 12th of Beesâk; and Shaykh al-Mubârakpuri investigated this day and found it to be the same day on which the Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him] was born.
5- He will come at a time when horses and camels are used for transport.
6- His father will die before his birth and his mother a short time after it.
7- He will leave to receive knowledge in a mountain cave at the hands of “Parashurama”, an Avatar belonging to Vishnu (i.e. an angel messenger) according to the Hindu tradition; and it also means the Holy Spirit.
8- He will begin his Da‘wah in the secure city in the Peninsula and, when its inhabitants harm him, he will emigrate to a town in the north surrounded by mountains and, some time later, he will return to his city with the sword and conquer it along with all other cities.
9- Kalki Avatar will be given a speedy flying horse, faster than lightening, with which he will ride and travel across earth and the seven heavens.
10- He will fight the enemies of the religion with the sword and overpower them all as well as tens of millions of evil and wicked who will be dressed in the dress of kings and rulers.
11- He will be made victorious in wars with the help of angels.
12- He will overpower devils with the help of four assistants or supporters (i.e. the Rightly-Guided Caliphs).
13- The leading Messengers are twenty-four with Kalki Avatar being the last of them.
14- His beauty will be dazzling.
15- The body of Kalki Avatar will be fragrant with the most pleasant scent, which will perfume the air and delight the people.
16- He will know unseen matters and tell people about them.
17- He will be of noble ancestry.
18- He will have a strong body.
19- He will not speak so much uselessly.
20- He will be munificent and give much wealth in charity.
21- He will have wisdom and deep insight.
