Short Description
Praise be to Allah, the Almighty, with His grace the good deeds are accomplished.
(Say, "In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy - in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate") chapter; Yunus, verse: 58.
I have never imagined such mass felicity among Egyptians and the noble worldwide on hearing the news of having the tyrant Mubarak stepped down. In Tahrir Square, there were Egyptians with eyes, hearts and words full of marvelous happiness in a way I never experienced before. Moreover, on TVs, I have closely witnessed the same feelings of happiness in most Arab countries and in many western countries.
Indeed, it was a pleasant matter.
So long as such felicity occurred to all of us, we should express gratitude to all participating in the success of the revolt.
First: - gratitude, praise, thanks and veneration be to Allah, the Lord of worlds. O Allah, praise be to You in a manner equal to the glory of Your face and the grandeur of Your dominion. Praise be to You, Allah, until You are satisfied, after satisfaction and forever and ever. Praise be to Allah, the Almighty, to the fill of heavens and earth, all that is between them and to any amount You wish.
Praise be to You for Your relief and defense and for Your beneficence.
Indeed, You, the Bountiful, the Great, the Sublime.
You, made us happy, relieved us and bestowed us with insight.
To Allah belong the command, grace and praise.
No action or success we obtained except by Your direction and prosperity. And, we could not withstand the evil of the tyrants except due to Your grace and assistance.
You are our Lord, Creator, Provider and Supporter.
We express gratitude to You and hope for more advantages, as You said :( If you are grateful, I will surely increase you) chapter; Ibrahim, verse: 7.
O Allah, let us know the manner to express gratitude to You, resort to You and trust in You, because with Your assistance, we would be more mighty than all powers on the earth and we certainly powerless if divested of Your assistance.
Subsequent to expressing gratitude to Allah, we should recall the prophetic tradition that reads: (and whoever is thankless to people is thankless to Allah[1]) which would necessitates expressing gratitude to all participating in the success of the revolt.
Second: - gratitude to the highbred Egyptians:
I was more likely that Egyptians became useless and of no vain, but they proved the opposite.
Gratitude is to all those taking part in this civilized revolution.
Gratitude is to youths who commenced such blessed revolution and participated in these Security Groups which acted the same of the absent police.
Gratitude is to all parents who accepted, however, encouraged their sons to participate effectively in this significant revolution.
Gratitude is to men and women who all gave an honorific image for this revolution in Tahrir revolution. This was reflected in the committees of the field hospitalities, order, cleanness, announcement, hospitality, securing positions, withstanding the bullies, detectives and State Security Officers.
Gratitude is to all nationals who endured the financial trouble that Egypt experienced through works breaking down.
Gratitude is to all besought Allah, the Almighty, to steadfast people of the truth and frightens those of evil and to make ease and goodness to such nation.
Indeed, gratitude is due to you, the noble Egyptian nationals.
Third: - gratitude is to all positive national movements:
Though this revolution is shown as popular in the full sense of the word, namely all individuals of the Egyptians participated, men, women, and children as well. Moreover, all movements have participated in the revolution. However, a special gratitude should be directed to a set of the national powers who effectively participated to the success of the revolution.
First of all, we should show gratitude to those commenced the revolution, namely the youth groups that was formed through the internet and which had an axial part during the months preceding the revolution. To exemplify, the group named: "we are all Khaled Sa`id", the Alexandrian youth who died due to being subject to the torture of two police men in Alexandria, "April 6th" that has been established on April 6th, 2008 AD, which aimed to collaborate the workers to gain their rights, "Muslim Brotherhood Group" that has been established on the internet, but not attached to the Muslim Brotherhood Movement and later the "popular campaign" assisting Al-Barad`i.
These groups wholly resulted in the demonstration of January 25th as a start gradually developed to the blessed revolution.
Indeed, the number of these groups where few if compared to those participated in the revolution afterwards. However, they started the demonstration that ended in, and still, stepping down the corruptor figures in Egypt. Accordingly, gratitude should be delivered to them in the first place.
Then, gratitude is to the Muslim Brotherhood Movement which stands first to the Movements assisting the revolt. It is needless to profile such movement as its members are effective worldwide. It is the largest Islamic mass in Egypt. It has very effective participations in terms of politics, economics, society and religion.
In the beginning of the revolution, the Muslim Brotherhood Movement aided the youths on January 25th 2011, and then it put all its efforts on Friday, January 25th that known as "Anger Friday".
It is well-known that the Brotherhood Movement is known of its ability to mobilize its individuals. It had the great merit as to multiplying the numbers participating in the revolution. They endured the onus of the bloody Wednesday, February 2nd 2011, where a mass of the National Party bullies attacked the peaceful demonstrators. Too many of those participated in the revolution stated that had it not for the Muslim Brotherhood resolution, the result would be disastrous in the full sense of the word.
All gratitude is to them for their courageous resolution.
Truth be told, to talk about the Muslim Brotherhood, it needs a separate article in order not to withhold their due.
As well, all gratitude is to "Kefaya Movement" that was established on 2004 and opposes re-electing the president Mubarak and installing Gamal Mubarak in the presidency office.
Despite divisions made progress to this movement, their leading figures participated in the revolution and remarkably were stationed at Tahrir Square.
As well, I would like to refer to some other groups and parties deserve gratitude that I could not enumerate them in this quick article, however, I referred to the leading participants only.
Fourth: - gratitude is to the brave martyrs:
There is no real revolution without martyrs. How it was pleasant to me to witness Egyptian youths face the death courageously! Thereupon, I realized that the responsibility of Egypt is too significant. As well, I was assured that such brave spirit would definitely lead to release Egypt from corruption and injustice and free the Muslim world from occupation, in Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and others. Indeed, Allah, the Almighty, is able to do that.
Such pure youth have demonstrated seeking their plundered rights, facing an arrogant tyrant. In the event that the one died in defense of his property is deemed martyr[2], how is the case of that died in defense of the property of all nationals?
In the event that the one declares publicly the truth to the tyrant ruler is a striver in the cause of Allah[3], how is the case if such striver is killed for the sake of that?
Indeed, he will be admitted to paradise with the master of martyrs Hamza [4]"May Allah be pleased with him" as we are reported by the prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Blessed you are, O martyrs.
Blessed are your fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters.
Definitely, you will intercede to them all, God willing.
I beseech to Allah, to satisfy you in your graves as you satisfied Egyptian nationals wholly through your strife.
Fifth: gratitude is to scholars who assisted and blessed the revolution:
The happiest daily moments in my life were those spent in Tahrir Square.
I have experienced a different class of nationals than those at any place outside the square. I have discovered that things I have been learning for tens of years in books do not reach tenth of things I experienced in Tahrir square.
How great joy I felt when the youth come to surround me asking: are we not on the right path? Hence, I would restore them to confidence, praise and give them glad tidings.
Their concerned questions pleasured me as I believed that they seek the satisfaction of Allah, the Almighty. And, I believe that the goodness would, God willing, definitely comes on the part of such youths.
Yet, I, personally, was in need to divine aid and assistance which I sought through a set of sincere scholars views that I always trust them in terms of their religion and knowledge.
Unanimously, Dr. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi stands first to this set of scholars who was too clear from the very beginning of the revolution and whose words sowed tranquility to the hearts of the demonstrators wholly.
In Tahrir Square, I was always pleased for the prominent scholars assist the youths through orations, acclamation, instructions and leading. At the head of those is my brother and close friend Dr. Safwat Hegazi, the prominent chancellor, Muhammad Selim Al-`Awa, sheikh Hazem salah Abu-Isma`il, the noble sheikh Ahmad Halil, our teacher, Dr. Gamal `Abdel-Hadi, my comrade, the scholar Dr. Salah Sultan, the noticeable striver sheikh Hafez Salama, the noble sheikh, Dr. Muhammad `Abdel-Maksud, the scholar sheikh Nashat Ahmad and others of the leading figures in the religious knowledge field and Da`wah. I, deeply, apologize if one of the venerable scholars name inadvertently forgotten.
The agreement among such group of scholars and callers to Allah was a wonderful issue. It recalled the condition of the sincere struggler scholars who act according to their knowledge. This was a major assistance to the revolt.
In the course of talking about the scholars, I would like to refer to two significant points;
First:- I do venerate the scholars who were adopted the dissent legal view in terms of holding demonstrations. Consequently; they were clearly disapproving marching in a demonstration denouncing the policies of the governing ruler or calling him to step down.
I do venerate their view in spite of disagreeing with them. I have demonstrated my view in the article titled "It is not sedition 1/2" which, God willing, will be concluded soon in the second article titled "It is not sedition 2/2". And yet, I, as already mentioned above, I do venerate their plain view, and also I respect their change for such view on having the truth disclosed to them, where some of them declared it publicly that they advocate the revolt considering it a word of truth delivered to a tyrant ruler.
This was the first point, namely venerating the dissent scholars so long as they are plain as to their attitudes and views.
The second point is that I neither agree with, nor do I give confidence in the scholars and callers to Allah, who were neutral, namely sometimes they advocated the revolt, while other times they opposed it. They, sometime, withstood the youth, while other times they called on them to prudence and not to march in the demonstration. They, sometime, announced in a channel a certain view, while they announced a dissent one in other channel.
This state of perplexity and obscurity perplexed the youth and made them discredit the scholars and callers to Allah, however, the youth felt that the scholar or the caller to Allah does not present his view impartially, but he regards his interest in the first place. Such scholars are, on one hand, concerned with their followers who are the advocators of his doctrine, while, on the other hand, they attentively regard the regime that they do not want to become hostile to it, the matter which cause him a gross loss if the regime managed to put the revolution under its control.
I do not demand the scholars to be infallible as this is impossible. To err is human, except the infallible prophets and messengers; however, I call on them to have plain views and decisive attitudes and to bear the consequence of their views. By then, their views and attitudes would be welcomed.
Sixth:- gratitude is to the Egyptian Armed Forces:
There is a firm emotional relation between the Egyptian nationals and the army. The nationals regard the army as the protector and the defender to the country as they endure in the desert and boundaries to guard the nationals at their homes.
All gratitude is to the army who kept this intimate relation vivid during this destructive crisis.
The army delivered the demonstrators from the bullies of the National Party, police and State Security. The army marches its tanks at different places to spread safety among Egyptians.
All gratitude to the army as it abstained from shooting Egyptians even by one bullet. Gratitude to the army as it detained the criminals released by the Egyptian police. Gratitude is to the army due to its kind smile and compassion on dealing with the demonstrators and the very politeness in words in verbs. This was applied by the army wholly, in all its classes, from the major to the inferior.
Indeed, I do express my gratitude to the army very much, though this does not criticize the non-interference of the army in the massacre of Wednesday, February 2nd 2011, where it kept neutral, as stated by leaders in the army, in order not to be accused of siding with one party!
It should side with the wronged against the oppressor and defend the unarmed national facing outlaw bullies.
I do understand that the army is an institution inside the political order governing Egypt; however, witnessing the aggravated oppression on Wednesday should have prompted them to confront horses, camels, diggers and Molotov cocktails. In general, this negative attitude of the army was for once only, afterwards it defended the Egyptians participating in the revolution.
As well, I express gratitude to the army to its mild policy in governing Egypt after having the president Mubarak stepped down. In addition to its sedate statements and its appreciation to the nationals troubled by the corruption of the system, to its hastening to deactivate the constitution and resolving the People's Assembly and Shura Council. Also, as it banned the leading figures of the National Party to escape from Egypt until investigations are concluded and prevented Safwat Al-Sheririef and Dr. Fathi Surur from logging into the People's Assembly in order not to hide some papers may condemn some parties.
I beseech to Allah, the Almighty, to save the Egyptian army, to guide it the right way and to make it defender to the right, justice and dignity.
Seventh: gratitude is to the Tunisian noble nationals;
The success of the Egyptian revolt might be attributable to the noble Tunisian nationals. The successive revolts occurred in Tunisia preceding the revolt of Egypt and the success of the Tunisian revolt to make Zein Al-`Abeddin steps down and escapes made it more attainable for the Egyptian youths through groups and the opposing movements bearing in mind that the resistance in Tunisia was less fierce than that of Egypt as a result of the direct vehement oppression against the dissent parties applied by Zein Al-`Abedin throughout the last nineteen years that started from 1992.
Accordingly, I should express my gratitude to the struggler Tunisian nationals that was copied by the Egyptian nationals. Hence, Egyptians knew that causing change is not impossible and that unity to one goal makes it imminent, God willing. This condition kept the hope vivid in the hearts of the rebel even at the most critical moments having been endured the cruelty of the governing regime.
It is sufficient to demonstrate the Egyptians gratitude to the Tunisians to have both flags side by side in Tahrir Square reflecting a profound love that deserves admiration.
Eighth: gratitude is to all Muslim and Arab Nationals and the fair nationals worldwide as well.
One of the most wonderful things I watched on satellite channels was the rallies supporting the revolt of Egypt which we all watched in capitals of most Arab, Muslim, American and European lands.
Strikingly, the participants were not only Egyptians; however, they were from all Arab and Muslims nationalities; rather, non-Muslim Europeans and Americans marched as well. This indeed reflects the sublimity of the humane homogeneity in terms of the right and justice questions. Accordingly, gratitude is due to all these fair nationals whom we watched presenting the sweets on the success of the Egyptian revolt in a manner made me cry a lot. This made me believe that hope still vivid to live in a harmony on earth.
Ninth: - gratitude is to the positive satellite channels;
Some of the satellite channels directly participated in the success of this revolt. Unanimously, Al-Jazera channel stands first to all these channels that it exerted the very efforts to telecast the revolt from inside Tahrir square and other places, in addition to the numerous effective analysis and interviews. Rather; at times of having the internet and the means of communications halted, it acted as a means to communicate the demonstrators together everywhere remarkably.
As well, I express gratitude to BBC, Al-Hurrah, Al-Hewar and other channels that tackled the issue truly and transparently. This was not in favor of the revolt; however, it disclosed the falsification of the evil Egyptian media that tackled the incidents in the techniques of the 19th century. This in turn led the Egyptian media to be comic, absurd, stray and misleading.
The effective media led to such positive results, the matter which should catch the eyes of Muslims to the significance of this effective tool "media" and its part on reforming the nations.
Tenth: gratitude is to many prominent figures ventured their posts to lead the revolt to success.
We should not forget there were many Egyptian prominent figures live an orderly life under the past governing regime. However, they assisted and defended the revolt, the matter which would expose them to gross loss in case of the failure of the revolt, but they chose to do the right at any cost. This necessitates express sincere thanks to them to them for this attitude. They are too many prominent figures that I can not enumerate in this article. They are in the field of policy, economics, sports, arts, media and religion. May Allah, the Almighty, reward them all the good and I beseech to Allah to make their deeds sincere to Him only.
These were ten points.
The Egyptian revolution was an epic by all standards, where many efforts were exerted and many factors led it to success. But, I conclude this article emphasizing the same mentioned in its beginning that all this was to be useless and vain, unless Allah, the Almighty, aided it. Since Allah, the Almighty, desired a good condition to Muslims, He (Glorified and Exalted) crowned their revolt by success.
To Him is praise in the first life and the Hereafter.
(And to Allah belongs honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know).
I beseech to Allah, the Almighty to grant honor to Islam and Muslims.
