The prophet Muhammad (PBUH) dedicated his life conveying Islam to non-Muslims, though he was harshly confronted. In this regard, Rubai`ah ibn `Abbad Ad-Dyali, who was polytheist and subsequently he embraced Islam, stated: I saw, with my own eyes, the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, at the market of Zi Al-Majaz  addressing people: "O people! Say "No God but Allah, you would then be prosperous". The Messenger was doing that while people silently surrounding him, but he never refrained. He kept saying: "O people! Say "No God but Allah, you would then be prosperous" and a crosses-eyed with nice face and two braids man following him saying: he is an apostate and liar. I, Rubai`ah, asked: who is that? It was said to me: he is Muhammad ibn `Abdillah mentioning prophethood. I asked: who is that man accusing him of lying? It was said to me: he is his uncle, Abu-Lahab[1]).

The prophet Muhammad never dealt in non-politeness, even though he was foolishly dealt by Abu-Lahab and Abu-Jahl.

The prophet Muhammad kept calling people to prosperity and salvation. Moreover, he was giving good news to them of possessing this worldly life along with the ease of Hereafter if they believed in Allah, Almighty, and ascribed no partner to Him.

`Abdullah ibn `Abbas said: Abu-talib fell ill, Quraish people and the prophet came to visit him. There was an empty place beside Abu-Talib. By then, Abu-Jahl hurried to sit in and complain the prophet to Abu-Talib who said: O my nephew! What do you want from your people? The prophet replied: I want them to pronounce one word by which all Arabs yield to them and non-Arabs will pay tribute to them. Abu-Talib said: one word?! The prophet replied: yes, one word, No God but Allah, Almighty. They said: One God! We have never heard about that from our predecessors. It is mere fabrication. Thus, the Quranic verses were revealed: (Sad. By the Qur'an containing reminder, We have not heard of this in the latest religion. This is not but a fabrication.) Sad, 1-7.[2]

It never happened to Prophet Muhammad to frown upon them or stop attending their assembly places.

The prophet Muhammad never looked at them arrogantly, however; he used to approach them kindly promising them with the treasures of the worldly life and the ease of the Hereafter.
