Short Description
Some chapters and verses of the Qur`an have great benefits, among which are Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas, the latter two are known Al-Mu`awidhatayn which guard against envy from people and Jinn. At-Tirmidhi narrated on the authority of Abu Sa'eed who said: The Messenger of Allah used to seek refuge from the Jinn and the human eyes until Allah revealed Al-Mu`awidhatayn, since then the Prophet used them and left otherwise.
The human eye that is envy is definite that it may cause disease; Bukhari narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Eye is definite"
Seeking prevention and treatment together, the Messenger of Allah used to read Al-Mu`awidhatayn and Al-Ikhlas every night before going to sleep. Bukhari narrated from Yunus, from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn al-Zubayr from Aisha who said: the Messenger of Allah when going to bed used to puff in his hands after reading Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas and then wipe his face and what his hands could reach from his body. Aisha Said: When the Prophet sickened, he asked me to do that instead. Yunus said: I saw Ibn Shihab acting the same if he came to bed.
How a beautiful Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad that he was keen to it to the extent that he got sick, he asked his wife `Aishah to do it for him.
Let’s be keen to this Sunnah every night before sleeping.
