The Holly Quran is a shield for the believer from aberration and delusion; the Almighty said: (Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable) [Al-Isra: 9], and to achieve this, the believer should keep finishing the whole Quran in recitation regularly not random, for the sunnah of the prophet is to recite it wholly once a month which is shown in the prophetic advice to `Abdullah ibn `Amr as saying: ( recite the whole Quran once a month), related by Al-Bukhari.

Also, the sunnah cited many other instances of reciting the Quran in twenty, ten, seven, and three days, and forty days as well. They are all authentic narrations.  This means that the Muslim should recite all the Quran to his best effort, but it should not be in more than forty days as the sunnah cited this.

Glad tidings for the one reciting the Quran as Allah Almighty made multi rewards for him; one letter recited from the Quran shall be rewarded for ten rewards.

We should adhere to the Quran and to the sunnah of the best of the prophets, our Messenger Muhammad (pbuh).
