Short Description
Usually people motivate workers at any institution through reward and punishment, and this through material aspects only; like to warnings, deductions, promotions, or public honoring.
This was the attitude of the Prophet Muhammad on this regard centuries ago to motivate Muslims for the good deeds through reward by paradise and frightening them from hellfire, as the final destination for man on earth is to either heaven or hell.
This was through many instances in the Prophet’s sunnah, where he admonished Muslims to adhere to truthfulness which related by Imam Bukhari on the authority of `Abdullah ibn Masu`d that the Prophet (PBUH) said: (Truth leads to piety and piety leads to Jannah. A man persists in speaking the truth till he is enrolled with Allah as a truthful. Falsehood leads to vice and vice leads to the Fire (Hell), and a person persists on telling lies until he is enrolled as a liar".'
Also, it is related by Imam Muslim on the authority of Abu-Hurairah that the Prophet (PBUH) said: (By Him in Whose Hand is my life! You will not enter Jannah until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I inform you of something which, if you do, you will love one another? Promote greetings amongst yourselves.)
When Prophet Muhammad wanted to exhort Muslims to give in charity, he frightened them from fire, as imam Bukhari related on the authority of `Adi ibn Hatim that the Prophet said: (Protect yourself from Hell-fire even by giving a piece of date as charity, but if you do not have such date, then by good words)
These are few examples in this respect which are uncountable, thus let’s use this sunnah in motivating our brethren, children, workers, and all Muslims to the good deeds which is the aim of Almighty Allah who says: "Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Jannah, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing).) (3:185)
