Short Description
In spite of the large number of business, worries and problems that were in the life of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, yet he paid a great attention to his home and marital life, which was not limited to the basic needs of the house; such as providing food, drink and therapy, etc. but it went beyond that to the great interest of psychological comfort and happiness of his wives. Of the means in achieving this was playing with the wife. This is demonstrated throughout the blessed sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) like that has been narrated by An-nassai, ranked authentic by Al-Albani, on the authority of `Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) who reported that she was on a journey with the Prophet (PBUH) who asked his companions to proceed, then he said to me: come, let’s race! I raced with him, but I won it on foot. After a passage of time, we went on journey, he 9PBUH) asked his companions to proceed, and asked me to race with him, however, I forgot our previous race, and I became fatty this time, so I said: how can I race with you while I am fatty, he replied: you should do! I raced with him, but he won it this time, and then he said to me: tit for tat)
An-Nasaai narrated, ranked good by Al-Albani, on the authority of `Aishah who said that I am still afraid of `Umar after what i saw of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). I made Harira (food), and Sauda was sitting with me. I told her: eat. She said: I am not hungry, and I will not eat. I said: eat or I will put that on your face, so I put that on her face. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) was between me and her, so he put his hand on her and told her: put that on her face. He laughed. Then Umar came. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) thought he is going to enter, so he said to them: wash off your faces, so Aishah said: so I fear Umar like the Holy prophet (PBUH).
Bukhari narrated on the authority of `Aisha who said: I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me. (The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for `Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty.)
Narrations witness that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was keen on having this fun atmosphere in the family, and this is a cornerstone of the success of family life.
