Short Description
There are some things lead to hatred and aversion among people; which may undermine community, and ultimately lead to its destruction; of these things is arguing. Accordingly, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, warned against its consequences, which is demonstrated as follows: Narrated Abu Umamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "No people go astray after having been guided, but they resort to arguing." Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited this Ayah: '...They quoted not the above example except for argument. Nay! But they are quarrelsome people,” then the Prophet recited the Quranic verse: (And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people), Az-Zukhruf, 58, related by Ibn Majah and ranked good by Al-Albani.
on the other hand, The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, made glad tidings for those not involving in arguing by great reward where He (PBUH) said: ("I guarantee a house in Jannah for one who gives up arguing, even if he is in the right; and I guarantee a home in the middle of Jannah for one who abandons lying even for the sake of fun; and I guarantee a house in the highest part of Jannah for one who has good manners."), related by Abu-Dawud and ranked good by Al-Albani.
This narration has a core point, namely arguing. It is the origin of lying that is the one who argue others may lie to win the other, but if he avoided arguing, he is more worthy not to lie, and this is finally the good manners which entitles him to houses in paradise.
