Short Description
It is a compassionate sunnah of Prophet Muhammad to delay Suhur meal, which strengthen Muslims for observing their fasting and forbearing the hardship of hunger and thirst.
In this regard, Al-Bukhari narrated on the authority of Anas: Zaid bin Thabit said, "We took the Suhur with the Prophet (ﷺ) . Then he stood for the prayer." I asked, "What was the interval between the Suhur and the Adhan?" He replied, "The interval was sufficient to recite fifty verses of the Qur'an."
Al-Bukhari narrated on the authority Sahl bin Sa`d: I used to take my Suhur meals with my family and then hurry up for presenting myself for the (Fajr) prayer with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ).
It clearly indicates that interval between finishing suhur meal and prayer of fajr is few minutes.
People may delay suhur to find power to observe fasting, however, it is more proper to do that with the intention of imitating the Prophet which would benefit you twice, once for following the sunnah, and then for having power to observe fasting.
It is worthmentioning that suhur in itself is a prophetic sunnah, namely it is not appropriate for Muslims to fast without having suhur as they have the power to observe fasting without suhur, as this is running counter to the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad.
Indeed, this is not a kind of power within the person observing fasting without suhur, rather it is reluctance of the sunnah of the Prophet who said; (Take Suhur as there is a blessing in it.), Muslim.
