Short Description
Giving charity is something hard. It is difficult to feel that your wealth is decreasing.
Allah says: (And you love wealth with inordinate love)
So, Allah used a unique way to encourage the believers to give in charity that He used many approaches that collectively make giving charity easier.
We should think about that way. It is really strongly attracting the attention of these who have mind.
The first way:
1- Paradise:
Allah says: (And those who are patient, seeking the countenance of their Lord, and establish prayer and spend from what We have provided for them secretly and publicly and prevent evil with good - those will have the good consequence of [this] home - Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying],)
2- Hiding the reward
Allah says: (For those who have believed among you and spent, there will be a great reward.) and (Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He will multiply it for him and he will have a noble reward?)
3- Multiplication of reward: when Allah talks about the good deed, He mentions that He rewards the good deed with ten times. In this regard, Allah says: (Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof [to his credit], and whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except the like thereof; and they will not be wronged.). However, when Allah talks about charity, He multiplied that to 700 times or more. Allah says: (The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and knowing.)
4- Warning against hellfire: Allah says: (O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour the wealth of people unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah. And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment. The Day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell and seared therewith will be their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, [it will be said], "This is what you hoarded for yourselves, so taste what you used to hoard.")
5- Allah says: (Here you are - those invited to spend in the cause of Allah - but among you are those who withhold [out of greed]. And whoever withholds only withholds [benefit] from himself; and Allah is the Free of need, while you are the needy. And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people; then they will not be the likes of you.)
6- Now, the believers should be convinced. It is paradise or hellfire. However, some believers may delay their intention for one reason or another, so Allah uses a new way saying: (And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous), and also, Allah says: (Not equal among you are those who spent before the conquest [of Makkah] and fought [and those who did so after it]. Those are greater in degree than they who spent afterwards and fought. But to all Allah has promised the best [reward]. And Allah, with what you do, is Acquainted.), and (And spend [in the way of Allah ] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, "My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be among the righteous.")
7- Still some believers are afraid of being poor, or relatively poor after spending money in the cause of Allah, so Allah revealed some other verses dealing with another aspect of the complicated human psychology. O son of Adam do not fear your wealth will not decrease after spending in my cause, Allah says: (And why do you not spend in the cause of Allah while to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth?), and (But whatever thing you spend [in His cause] - He will compensate it; and He is the best of providers."), and Allah says: (and whose word can be true than Allah's?)
8- The prophet said: (For the realization of three things I (easily) swear, and keep in mind what I tell you: charity will not cause a reduction in one’s wealth, no one connives at the oppressions he has gone through, unless Allah expands his dignity, and nobody stretches the hand of need toward others unless Allah opens the door of poverty on him.), Allah says in Qudsi Hadith: (o son of Adam: spend, so I will spend on you).
9- May be some believers still need some reinforcement or some encouragement, so comes the verse that talk to the feeling of the believers, the verse that breaks your heart and soften your soul. Allah says: (Believe in Allah and His Messenger and spend out of that in which He has made you successors.), and (Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He will multiply it for him and he will have a noble reward?), and (Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.)
