Short Description
We spoke last about the stories in Quran and we mentioned that the purpose of these stories is to extract the lessons and instructions that show us the straightway and make our heart firm.
We started by the story of creation, creation of Adam from clay. We spoke about the first lesson from this story. This lesson was that Adam was nothing before creation and Allah created him by His hands. We discussed the evolution theory and showed its defects and the Islamic view to this theory.
Today, we will extract together another lesson from the story of creation.
Dear believers:
Our lesson today isn't only great lesson, but it is the greatest lesson in our life. If we truly understand it, we will win this life and the other life, but if we lost thus lesson, we will lose everything, this and the other life. This lesson is: what is the purpose of creation? Why Allah created us?
Allah Almighty who created us and who owns everything in our life does not leave us with no answer. He (SWT) says: (I have created Jinns and men only to serve Me" Surat Az-Zaryat. So, this is the purpose that Allah created us to serve Him, to do worship for Him.
Dear brothers: if this is really the purpose, we should understand it properly to be able to do it as Allah wants us to do.
Dear brother: take it seriously, if you misunderstand this lesson, you may lose everything. Allah says: (And of the people is he who worships Allah on an edge. If he is touched by good, he is reassured by it; but if he is struck by trial, he turns on his face [to the other direction]. He has lost [this] world and the Hereafter. That is what is the manifest loss.)
My brothers, what is the right worship?
Is it just testifying that Allah is present?
Is it just testifying that Allah is the creator who created us and who created Jinn, who created the heavens, earth, sun, moon, stars, mountains, seas, and the day and night?
Is this testifying enough?
Is this testifying is a guarantee for success?
No, my brothers,
This is a part of the lesson, not the whole lesson.
See, my brothers
The Arab disbelievers before Islam understood this part of the lesson, and testified it, however, this was not enough for them to be Muslims.
See, my brother, Allah says in Surah Az-Zukhruf (And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing."), (If you asked them who created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon (to his law), they will certainly reply: Allah), and (And I you asked them who sends down rains from the sky, and gives life to the earth after its death, they will certainly reply: Allah.)
So, the Arab disbelievers knew that Allah is the creator, however they refused, there is no deity but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, even after the promise of Allah that after saying it, they will be given the whole earth.
Why they refused to say this simple word?
Because, they knew that by saying it, they will have some duties to do.
They know that these duties are bigger than their capabilities.
They know that they are too sick to carry the responsibility of this word.
But you who believe
But you who are the followers of Muhammad (PBUH)
You have great capabilities
You have deeper faith
So, you should understand better
Dear believers:
If you are truly testifying that Allah is the creator who created you and made your creation the best, and gave you a lot of precious gifts, vision, hearing, hand, foot, heart, brain, and taught you what you have never been taught before , and subjected to you the sun, moon, birds, animals, and the whole world.
If you are truly testifying these facts, you must testify that Allah is the only eligible one for worship.
If you are truly testifying that Allah is the only eligible one for worship, you should do some things.
The first which, and the most important is the complete obedience to Allah who gave you all these gifts.
So, you should make Allah the only judge in your life.
Do what He wants you to do
Don't do what He warned you to do
Be where He wants you to be
This is what the Arab disbelievers refused to do, they knew that by testifying that there is no god but Allah it means the complete obedience to Allah, to this god.
Allah says in Surah An-Nisaa: (By your Lord, they will have no faith until they make you judge in all disputes between them, and find in their souls no resistance against your decision, but accept them with the fullest conviction)
So you can't claim that you serve Allah while you disobey Him and His orders. There will be no faith, except you make Him and His Messenger the judge in your life.
Dear brothers:
Listen to this Hadith: (`Adi ibn Hatem was Christian before Islam. When he wanted to be a Muslim, he went to Medina to meet the Prophet Muhammad. When he entered, to him, he found him reading Quran, the verse: "They take their scholars and monks lords beside Allah")
When `Adi heard that, he said: they did not worship them. The prophet replied: they forbade the allowable for them and allowed the forbidden, and they, Jews, Christians, followed them. So, this is how they worshipped them.
So, dear brothers:
If there is any one who changes the lawful to unlawful or vice versa, this means that this one made himself as Allah and all his followers are like servants to him.
This is a very critical issue.
Moreover;
If any one made his desires as the judge in his life, so he obey them in changing the lawful to unlawful and vice versa, then he would be making his desires a god for him.
See, my brothers,
Allah says: (do you see such one who takes his own desire as his god) Al-Jathyah
Yes brothers, some people take their desires as their god. Let us take a practical example
(Those who consume interest cannot stand [on the Day of Resurrection] except as one stands who is being beaten by Satan into insanity. That is because they say, "Trade is [just] like interest." But Allah has permitted trade and has forbidden interest. So whoever has received an admonition from his Lord and desists may have what is past, and his affair rests with Allah . But whoever returns to [dealing in interest or usury] - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein. Allah destroys interest and gives increase for charities. And Allah does not like every sinning disbeliever. Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish prayer and give zakah will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of interest, if you should be believers. And if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may have your principal - [thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged.) Al-Baqarah, 275- 279.
The verses talk about those who deal with interest, usury, they say trade is like riba, but Allah permitted trade and forbade riba. Then the verses ask the believers to leave riba and make repentance and warned those who are continuing with riba that they will be companions of the fire for ever.
Then, Allah said that He will deprive riba of all blessing and will increase the deeds of charity.
Lastly, Allah asked who believe to fear Allah and give up what remains from riba if they are truly believers. He warned those who do not give up riba with a war from Allah and His Messenger , meanwhile, He opened the door who give up riba to repent and return to Him.
Dear brothers who deal with riba;
Do you know that these verses indicate that riba does not mix with faith, so if you are true believers, you should obey, but if you are not, then make whatever you want, and you will have an appointment with Allah and He will pay you what you earn.
Dear brother who deal with riba;
How you claim that you worship Allah while you make unlawful?
How you claim you are servant of Allah while you select what you want from His book and make your own desires as god?
Dear brother who died with riba, who can withstand a war from Allah and His Messenger?
How will you fight Allah?
Will you fight Him with the money He gave you?
Will you fight Him with the brain He gave you?
Will you fight Him with the power He gave you?
Dear brother, it is impossible to fight Allah.
Dear believers;
This example showed us how we can truly worship Allah.
Those who deal with riba testifying that Allah is present and the only creator, and is the most powerful who gives the life and death and they testify that there is a day of judgment, however, they do not make Allah as a judge in their life, so Allah called them disbelievers and out of faith.
Dear brothers;
Repeat this example in all your issues, in all your life.
- Do not claim that you truly worship Allah, while you allow your wife and daughters to go out without hijab, and you know that Allah forbade that.
- Do not claim that you truly serve Allah, while you allow your tongue to lie, backbite, and hunt other people.
- Do not claim that you are truly good servants to Allah while you are not obeying your parents and you know that Allah ordered you to obey them.
- Dear brothers;
The worship of Allah is a critical issue; this is your job in your life, so you should take it seriously. You should make Allah a judge in everything you meet, that is if Allah allowed this thing, then do it, otherwise not.
It will be paradise forever or hellfire for ever.
Dear brothers;
Allah Almighty says: (it is not fitting for a believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger, to have any option about their decision)
Dear believers:
We can't choose between the commandments of Allah. We should only obey if we want to be truly servants of Allah.
Dear brothers;
Take care of the word "will", it let many people enter the hellfire. Man says: I will give up riba next year, I will cover my wife after pilgrimage, I will pray next month, and so on, but he will do nothing. If you make a right decision, do it right now, as none knows when will meet Allah.
