Short Description
Allah Almighty held some days more esteemed than others and made observing the righteous deeds during such days more rewarded than the rest of days by way of His blessing. The first ten days of Dhulhijjah are the best days throughout the year which is related by Al-Bukhari on the authority of ibn Abbas from the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: (No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these." Then some companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Not even Jihad?" He replied, "Not even Jihad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah's sake) and does not return with any of those things.)
Abu-dawud related another version of this Hadith from ibn Abbas that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: (There is no virtue more to the liking of Allah in any day than in these days, that is, the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah. They (the Companions) asked: Messenger of Allah, not even the struggle in the path of Allah (Jihad) ? He said: (Yes), not even the struggle in the path of Allah, except a man who goes out (in the path of Allah) with his life and property, and does not return with any of them.)
This clearly indicates that good deeds during the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah may be superior to jihad which is the best deed in Islam.
This Hadith widens options for Muslims to choose among the good deeds, so let’s observes heavily during these days prayers, fasting, remembrance, reciting Quran, charity, maintaining kinship ties, reconciliation, etc.
