Short Description
The Messenger of Allah, pbuh, opened the door wide for each specialization of the various sciences and gave them the opportunity to innovate in their areas of his knowledge and specialization, and told all the Hadith which opens the door to all scientists to produce their best. Imam Muslim narrated on the authority of Anas that the Prophet said: (You have better knowledgeable (of a technical skill) in the affairs of the world.) However he, pbuh, recommended in every area of science with certain things as sunan, and applying those bear goodness in this world and the hereafter; of them is sunnah of cupping.
In this regard, Imam Bukhari, wording is his, and Imam Muslim, related on the authority of Jabir bin `Abdullah said: (I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "If there is any good in your medicines, then it is in a gulp of honey, a cupping operation, or branding (cauterization), but I do not like to be (cauterized) branded.)
It is amazing that angels advises the prophet by cupping during the journey of Israa and meraaj, where is related by At-Tirmithi, and ranked sahih by Al-Albani, on the authority of ibn Mas'ud said: (The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) narrated about the Night of Isra', saying that he did not pass an assembly of angels except that they ordered him: 'Order cupping among your Ummah."
The wonder is that angels recommends so much about something some people think it should be practiced in certain circumstances; the Muslim lives for decades without doing even once; rather some may deem it ancient medicine; which has become useless with the progress of Medicine in our time.
This angelic commandment proves that our knowledge is still limited, and that most of us link to the sunnah cautiously, and we need to re-evaluate things as per the vision of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was keen to apply this sunnah himself to the extent that he hired a cupper to treat him with cupping. Imam Muslim narrated from Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: « Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) got himself cupped and never withheld the wages of anyone. ».
Let practice this great sunnah, and we are fully convinced with its virtue and usefulness.
